Construction Packed Products Glossary

• Aggregates - crushed rock, sand or gravel.

• Base Aggregates – crushed rock, sand and gravel for general / building use.

• Bulk Bags - large industry used bags.

• Cemetitious - mixture containing cement.

• Chromium VI - The small amount of chromium in cement comes from the naturally occurring raw materials used in the manufacture of cement. When cement is mixed with water, some of the chromium dissolves (like salt in water) and can cause allergic dermatitis in certain individuals if it comes into contact with unprotected skin.

• CPPA – Construction Packed Products Association.

• Decoartive Aggregates – gravels, stones, pebbles for decorative use.

• FIBCs - Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers.

• HSE - Health and Safety Executive.

• Loop Bags - Bags lifted by four corner loops, requires someone mount bed of vehicle to attach to lifting mechanism.

• SH E - Safety, Health and Environmental.

• Tunnel Lift Bags - Bags lifted from two ‘tunnels’ on side of bag. Does not require someone to mount the vehicle bed. No manual work necessary.
